Mission

  • To provide a museum complex that will give insight and generate interest into the late woodland period of Native Americans.

The Living Museum

  • Our Living Museum is a meticulously recreated, late woodlands period, palisaded Indian Village which carbon dates from 1215 AD. Daily our village is staffed by interpreter guides dressed in primitive attire who are demonstrating the primitive skills that would have been practiced by the original inhabitants of this site.
  • Our tour is a self guided tour where each visitor can determine the time spent to their own convenience. Walking canes, electric mobility carts and benches located throughout the trail are available to any visitor that may require them.

The Wolf Creek Indian Village Conventional Museum

  • Part of the second phase of our complex is the construction of the museum building. All visitors coming to the Wolf Creek Indian Village Complex will enter through this Conventional museum with approximately 4,800 sq. ft. of total area.
  • Guests will find displays of artifacts from our original dig, other digs that we have participated in, displays of other Indian cultures, an orientation area, rest rooms, professional education and exhibit areas, and a complete gift shop containing items of Indian craftsmanship, Indian related, and Indian replications.
  • After orientation and seeing the exhibits, visitors will be accorded the opportunity to visit our Living Museum. Parking for cars, RVs, and buses is available. Vending machines are also available.

Nature Trails

  • The Wolf Creek Indian Village Museum complex has three developed nature trails (3,723 ft) for the enjoyment and convenience of our visitors. These trails allow our visitors to enjoy the splendor of our natural environment much like was available to our original inhabitants.
  • In addition, we have picnic facilities nestled amongst giant rhododendrons.
